What’s new for the 2026 Ford Bronco?
2026 brings some of the biggest year-over-year changes the Bronco has seen since its 2021 relaunch. The headline updates:
- Wildtrak™ Package — new for 2026, available exclusively on Badlands. Bundles the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 10-speed automatic, Sasquatch Package, HOSS 3.0 suspension with FOX™ Internal Bypass dampers, and the Black Appearance Package into a single option. If you wanted the closest thing to a Stroppe Edition without the military-only ordering channel, this is it.
- 60th Anniversary Package — new for 2026, available on Outer Banks. Celebrates Bronco’s 60-year history with a Wimbledon White-painted hard top, warm alloy grille with two-color “BRONCO” lettering, leather seats with Alpine inserts, a steel front bumper, and unique 60th Anniversary graphics. Requires the Sasquatch Package and is only orderable in Wimbledon White or Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.
- Three new paint colors — Avalanche Gray (replaces several discontinued grays), Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat (a vivid metallic orange), and Wimbledon White (60th Anniversary Package only).
- Ford Connectivity Package — standard for the first year, then optional as a one-time 7-year purchase. Includes unlimited Wi-Fi hotspot, audio and video streaming, voice assistant, and entertainment features.
- Front Stabilizer Bar Disconnect is now optional on Badlands without requiring the Sasquatch Package — a nice unbundling for buyers who want the disconnect without committing to 35" tires.
- Dual Tops — the soft-top add-in (in addition to a hard top) is now available on more trims, expanding flexibility for buyers who want both options.
- Heritage Edition is no longer available to fleet buyers (retail only) and now offers Marsh Gray as a paint option.
A few items have been retired for 2026: Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, Eruption Green Metallic, and Carbonized Gray Metallic paints are gone, and the leather gear shift knob is no longer included on Big Bend.
What trim levels are available for the 2026 Bronco?
The 2026 Bronco is offered in six retail trims at Jay Malone Ford. Each has its own personality, and the right one depends on how often you actually plan to leave pavement.
Base. The entry point. Available as a 2-door or 4-door, with the 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 standard and a choice of 7-speed manual or 10-speed automatic. Standard features include 4x4 with part-time engagement, hard top (2-door) or soft top (4-door), 16" steel wheels, 12" cluster display, and the Sasquatch Package available as an option for serious off-road capability.
Big Bend®. The volume seller. 4-door only, with privacy glass, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17" Carbonized Gray-painted aluminum wheels, 32" all-terrain tires, and access to the Mid Package (heated seats, dual-zone climate, Connected Navigation, Co-Pilot360, Pro Power Onboard™). Optional appearance packages include Black Diamond™, Free Wheeling™, and Black Appearance.
Outer Banks®. The comfort-focused trim. Standard 10-speed automatic transmission, leather-trimmed seats, 10-way power driver and 8-way power passenger seats, heated steering wheel, leather gear shift knob, LED fog lamps, body-color fender flares, and 18" bright machined wheels. Optional Lux Package adds a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, B&O® sound, evasive steering assist, and front parking sensors.
Badlands®. The off-road-focused trim. Available as 2-door or 4-door, with standard advanced 4x4, full vehicle steel bash plates, rock rails, marine-grade vinyl seats, washout-capable rubberized flooring with drain plugs, and seven G.O.A.T. Modes (adds Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja). HOSS 2.0 suspension with rear Bilstein® dampers is standard. Optional Wildtrak Package and HOSS 3.0 are new for 2026.
Heritage Edition. The throwback. 4-door only, retail-exclusive (no fleet sales for 2026), with an Oxford White-painted hard top, 17" unique white wheels, white-painted grille with red “FORD” lettering, plaid cloth seats, and Heritage bodyside graphics. Sasquatch Package is included. The Heritage trim is a Big Bend underneath with 60s-inspired styling cues throughout.
Raptor®. The flagship. 4-door only, powered by the 418-hp 3.0L EcoBoost V6, with HOSS 4.0 suspension featuring FOX Live Valve dampers, 37" all-terrain tires on 17" black high gloss-painted alloy wheels, body-color high-coverage fender flares, heavy-duty modular front bumper with Rigid® fog lamp, full-vehicle steel bash plates, and the most aggressive off-road geometry in the lineup. Three appearance packages are available: Code Orange, Black, and Shadow Black.
One note for retail shoppers: Ford also produces a Bronco Stroppe Edition for 2026, but it’s available exclusively through Ford’s WAFAC military sales channel and isn’t orderable through retail dealerships like Jay Malone Ford.
For the full trim-by-trim breakdown with feature comparisons, package details, and a decision framework for picking the right one, see our 2026 Ford Bronco trim levels explained guide.
What engines and transmissions are offered?
Three turbocharged EcoBoost engines are available across the 2026 Bronco lineup. Horsepower and torque figures are based on premium fuel; regular fuel produces slightly lower output.
| Engine | Horsepower | Torque | Transmissions | Available On |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 | 300 hp (premium) / 275 hp (regular) | 325 lb-ft (premium) / 315 lb-ft (regular) | 7-speed manual or 10-speed automatic | Standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage Edition |
| 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 | 330 hp (premium) / 315 hp (regular) | 415 lb-ft (premium) / 410 lb-ft (regular) | 10-speed automatic only | Optional on Outer Banks, Badlands, Heritage Edition |
| 3.0L EcoBoost® V6 | 418 hp | — | 10-speed automatic only | Standard on Raptor |
A few notes on transmissions:
- The 7-speed manual includes a Granny Gear (very low first gear) and a Crank in Gear function that lets you start the engine while the transmission is in gear — both genuinely useful in low-range off-road situations. It’s available with the 2.3L only.
- The 10-speed automatic includes Trail Control (low-speed off-road cruise control) and Trail Turn Assist on most trims, plus Trail One-Pedal Driving on Outer Banks, Badlands, and Raptor.
- Outer Banks is automatic-only — no manual transmission option for that trim.
How capable is the 2026 Bronco off-road?
Off-road capability is what the Bronco was built around, and 2026 keeps that the focus. There are four pillars worth understanding: G.O.A.T. Modes, the HOSS suspension ladder, the Sasquatch Package, and the trail-specific features that come with each trim.
G.O.A.T. Modes (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain). Bronco’s drive-mode system reconfigures throttle, traction control, transmission shift behavior, and (on capable trims) the differentials based on the terrain. Five modes are standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Heritage Edition: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand. Badlands and Raptor add Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja for a total of seven modes.
HOSS Suspension Ladder. Ford’s High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) system has four tiers in 2026:
- HOSS 1.0 — passive damping with HOSS-tuned heavy-duty dampers. Standard on Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks.
- HOSS 2.0 — passive damping with long-travel HOSS-tuned Bilstein position-sensitive dampers. Standard on Badlands and Heritage Edition, and on any trim with the Sasquatch Package.
- HOSS 3.0 — FOX™ Internal Bypass dampers, front steel bash plates, Ford Performance severe-duty steering rack. Available on Badlands (included in the new Wildtrak Package).
- HOSS 4.0 — FOX Live Valve 3.1 internal bypass semi-active dampers with terrain monitoring sensors and Ford Performance control arms allowing 13" front / 14" rear wheel travel. Raptor exclusive.
Sasquatch™ Package. Optional on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands; standard on Heritage Edition (and bundled into the Wildtrak Package on Badlands). Adds 35" rugged-terrain tires on 17" matte black alloy wheels, electronic-locking front and rear differentials, 4.7 final drive ratio, position-sensitive Bilstein shocks, high-clearance suspension, and high-clearance fender flares. The single best off-road upgrade you can make to a non-Raptor Bronco.
Off-road geometry. Ground clearance reaches up to 11.6" on Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks; up to 11.5" on Badlands and Heritage Edition; and up to 13.1" on Raptor. Water fording is up to 33.5" on most trims and up to 37" on Raptor. Approach, breakover, and departure angles on top configurations reach 43.2 degrees, 29 degrees, and 37.2 degrees respectively.

Should I get a 2-door or 4-door 2026 Bronco?
For 2026, the 2-door body style is only available on Base and Badlands. All other trims (Big Bend, Outer Banks, Heritage Edition, Raptor) are 4-door only.
The 2-door is shorter, lighter, has a tighter turning radius, and looks the part — it’s the closest modern equivalent to the original 1966 Bronco. It’s also the better choice for serious off-road use because of its shorter wheelbase. The trade-off is rear-seat space: getting adults or car seats into the back row of a 2-door is genuinely a project.
The 4-door is what most central Minnesota families end up with. It’s a real four-person vehicle (five with the center seat), the back doors make car seats and groceries easy, and it loses very little of the 2-door’s capability for everyday use. If you’re going to use the Bronco as your only vehicle or your family vehicle, get the 4-door.
For the full 2-door vs. 4-door comparison — including the off-road performance differences, rear-seat usability, cargo flexibility, and which body style fits which kind of buyer — see our 2026 Ford Bronco 2-door vs. 4-door guide.
What technology comes in the 2026 Bronco?
The 2026 Bronco runs SYNC® 4 on a 12" center display, with cloud connection, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, conversational voice command recognition, and a digital owner’s manual built in. Every trim gets the 12" cluster display along with the 12" center screen.
Ford Connectivity Package is new structure for 2026. A 1-year package is included with every Bronco from warranty start; after that, you can either continue paying month-to-month or buy the 7-year package as a one-time purchase. Either option includes unlimited Wi-Fi hotspot, audio and video streaming, voice assistant, and entertainment features. Connected Navigation is included on Big Bend Mid Package and higher.
Ford Co-Pilot360™ driver assistance suite is standard from Big Bend up. Includes Auto High-Beam Headlamps, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System (Alert, Aid, and Driver Alert), Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Dynamic Brake Support, and Rear View Camera with Backup Assist Grid Lines. Outer Banks and Badlands Lux Package adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Evasive Steering Assist, 360-Degree Camera, and Front Parking Sensors.
Audio. Standard on Base is a 7-speaker system with subwoofer. Lux Package on Outer Banks, Badlands, Stroppe, and Raptor adds the B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® with 12 speakers including subwoofer.
Pro Power Onboard™. A 400W AC inverter with two outlets — one in the rear seat, one in the cargo area — is included in the Mid Package on Big Bend and up. Useful for tailgating, work trips, or running a small camp.

How does the 2026 Bronco handle Minnesota winters?
Standard 4x4 across the lineup, G.O.A.T. Modes with a Slippery setting on most trims, available heated front seats and steering wheel, and an optional engine block heater — the 2026 Bronco is set up well for central Minnesota winters. Add a set of dedicated winter tires for the season and there’s very little it can’t handle on a Hutchinson winter morning.
Remote start is included with the 10-speed automatic on Mid Package and higher trims. Heated front seats are part of the Mid Package on Big Bend and up. The heated steering wheel is standard from Outer Banks up.
For the full deep-dive on the 2026 Bronco in Minnesota winter conditions — 4x4 vs. AWD, cold-start setup, scheduled remote start, recommended tires, interior protection, and which trim fits Hutchinson winters best — see our 2026 Ford Bronco for Minnesota winters guide.
How much can the 2026 Bronco tow?
Most 2026 Bronco trims tow up to 3,500 lbs. The Bronco Raptor steps up to 4,500 lbs. Every Bronco includes a Trailer Tow Prep Pack as standard equipment, with the full Trailer Tow Package available as a Dealer-Installed Option.
For most central Minnesota uses — fishing boats, small ice houses, utility trailers, side-by-side trailers, and small pop-up campers — 3,500 lbs is plenty. If you need to pull a large fifth-wheel, a horse trailer, or a heavy enclosed trailer, the Bronco isn’t the right tool — you want an F-150 or Super Duty for that. For specific tow ratings on the exact build you’re considering, refer to Ford’s 2026 Bronco Towing Guide or just ask us and we’ll pull the figure.
What colors and interiors are available for the 2026 Bronco?
Ten exterior paint colors are available across the 2026 Bronco lineup, though specific colors are limited to specific trims and packages. Three are new for 2026 (marked below). Extra-cost paints carry an additional charge.
| Paint Color | Code | Type | Trim Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avalanche Gray (NEW for 2026) | DR | Extra-cost | All retail trims |
| Velocity Blue Metallic | E7 | Extra-cost | Base, Big Bend, Badlands, Heritage Edition, Raptor |
| Shadow Black | G1 | Standard | All retail trims |
| Orange Fury Metallic Tri-coat (NEW for 2026) | NL | Extra-cost | Base, Big Bend, Badlands |
| Wimbledon White (NEW for 2026) | N4 | Extra-cost | Outer Banks 60th Anniversary Package only |
| Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat | RR | Extra-cost | All retail trims |
| Marsh Gray | T9 | Extra-cost | All retail trims |
| Desert Sand | VA | Extra-cost | All retail trims |
| Oxford White | YZ | Standard | All retail trims except Heritage Edition |
| Shelter Green Metallic | DB | Extra-cost | Raptor only |
Painted-roof color combinations are available on Outer Banks, Badlands, and Raptor, allowing more than 30 body-and-roof combinations. The 60th Anniversary Package on Outer Banks comes only with a Wimbledon White hard top.
Interior options vary by trim and include cloth (Base, Big Bend, Heritage), marine-grade vinyl (Badlands, Raptor, optional on Big Bend), leather-trimmed/vinyl (Outer Banks standard, optional on Badlands and Raptor), and unique Code Orange-stitched vinyl (Stroppe, military only). Some interior colors are tied to specific cabin environments and seat colors. If a particular paint-and-interior combination matters to you, ask us before ordering — we’ll confirm availability and pricing.
Three colors were retired for 2026: Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, Eruption Green Metallic, and Carbonized Gray Metallic.
2026 Bronco vs. 2026 Bronco Sport: Which Should You Buy?
Two of the most common questions we get on the Hutchinson sales floor are “What’s the difference between Bronco and Bronco Sport?” and “Which one should I buy?” Short answer: they’re different vehicles for different uses, and the styling overlap is mostly cosmetic.
The 2026 Bronco is a body-on-frame 4x4 SUV with removable doors and roof, real low-range gearing, locking differentials available, and serious off-road geometry. It’s built on the same architecture as the Ford Ranger pickup. Towing tops out at 3,500 lbs (4,500 lbs Raptor). Pricing starts higher and the on-road ride is more truck-like.
The 2026 Bronco Sport is a unibody crossover with all-wheel drive, designed primarily for paved and light-duty unpaved use. The doors and roof don’t come off. Towing tops out lower. It rides quieter, gets better fuel economy, and starts at a lower price. It’s built on the same architecture as the Ford Escape.
If you off-road, tow boats, want removable doors, or want a true 4x4 — you want the full-size Bronco. If you want a comfortable everyday SUV with rugged styling and AWD for snow — the Bronco Sport is probably the better fit, and it costs less.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I buy a 2026 Ford Bronco at Jay Malone Ford?
2026 Broncos are arriving on our Hutchinson lot now. Inventory shifts week to week, so the fastest way to know what’s available is to check our online inventory or call us at (320) 587-4748. If we don’t have your exact configuration in stock, we’ll order or locate it at no extra charge.
What’s the new Wildtrak Package on Badlands?
It’s a 2026-only option that bundles the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, 10-speed automatic, Sasquatch Package, HOSS 3.0 suspension with FOX Internal Bypass dampers, and the Black Appearance Package into a single ordering option on the Badlands trim. It’s requires the 4-door body and replaces what used to be a separate Wildtrak trim level.
What’s the difference between HOSS 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0?
HOSS 1.0 (Base/Big Bend/Outer Banks) is passive damping with HOSS-tuned heavy-duty dampers. HOSS 2.0 (Badlands/Heritage/any Sasquatch trim) adds Bilstein position-sensitive dampers. HOSS 3.0 (Badlands Wildtrak, Stroppe) upgrades to FOX Internal Bypass dampers. HOSS 4.0 (Raptor only) uses FOX Live Valve 3.1 semi-active dampers with terrain monitoring.
Is the Sasquatch Package worth it?
If you actually off-road or you want the look and capability of 35" tires, yes. Sasquatch adds 35" rugged-terrain tires, electronic-locking front and rear differentials, a 4.7 final drive ratio, position-sensitive Bilstein shocks, high-clearance suspension, and high-clearance fender flares. It’s the single biggest upgrade you can make to a non-Raptor Bronco. If you mostly drive on pavement and rarely leave it, you don’t need it — and the smaller tires and stock suspension are easier on fuel economy and quieter on the highway.
Do all 2026 Broncos come with manual transmission?
No. The 7-speed manual is available with the 2.3L engine on Base, Big Bend, Badlands, and Heritage Edition. Outer Banks is automatic-only. Raptor and any V6-equipped Bronco are automatic-only. The 10-speed automatic is the more popular choice and is available on every trim.
Can I order a 2026 Bronco in a specific color and configuration?
Yes. If we don’t have the exact build you want on our lot, we can either pull one in from another dealer at no extra charge, or place a factory order through Ford. Factory orders take longer (typically 8–16 weeks depending on the configuration and demand), but you get exactly what you want with no compromises. Stop in or call us and we’ll walk you through the options.
