Various fasteners may not have been properly torqued during assembly, with risks including part detachment, degraded crash performance, electrical disconnection, and reduced stability. Ford has issued recall 26C36 for certain Ford Genuine Accessory Trailer Brake Controller Kits on 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles. The trailer module may lose communication at startup, causing trailer lights and brakes to stop functioning while towing. Your F-150 is safe to drive. The fix is a free software update. Ford has issued recall 26S48 (NHTSA 26V-402) covering 741,195 vehicles including 2018-2021 Expedition and Navigator, 2020-2021 Explorer and Aviator, and 2021 F-150.
