Ford has not announced a specific on-sale date, but dealer allocations will open well before 2027 units arrive on lots, and buyers who want a specific trim, body length, or color are smart to get in line early.

What is new for the 2027 Ford Expedition?

The 2027 Expedition introduces five major updates: the all-new Tremor off-road trim, a 30th Anniversary Appearance Package on Platinum, three new paint colors, a new Family Travel Package on Active Touring, and BlueCruise hands-free driving (90-day trial) now standard on Active Touring retail orders. Laminated windshield is standard across the entire 2027 lineup, and 4x2 is newly available on Platinum Elite, the Stealth Appearance Package, and King Ranch.

A few other changes worth knowing about: the Wireless Charging Pad is now included with the Driver’s Package on Tremor and Platinum, and it’s standard on King Ranch. Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow is optional on 4x4 Active Touring and 4x4 Platinum, and standard when the Stealth Performance Package or Platinum Ultimate Package is ordered. Ford has also added a new one-time seven-year purchase option for the Ford Security Package and the Ford Connectivity Package, giving buyers the choice of a longer-term commitment at the point of sale instead of annual renewals.

On the paint side, Space Silver Metallic and Stone Blue Metallic are discontinued for 2027, and Oxford White is now fleet only.

What trim levels are offered on the 2027 Expedition?

The 2027 Expedition is offered in five trims — XL (fleet only), Active (with Select and Touring equipment groups), Tremor, Platinum, and King Ranch. The extended-length Expedition MAX body is available on XL, Active, Platinum, and King Ranch, but not on Tremor.

Here is how each trim is positioned for buyers:

• XL (fleet only): 4x4, fleet and government SSV configuration. Not available for retail purchase.
• Active Select (200A): The retail entry point. Cloth interior, eight-passenger seating, available in 4x2 or 4x4.
• Active Touring (202A): Adds ActiveX trimmed seats, power-folding second-row captain’s chairs, heated front seats, BlueCruise 90-day trial, and eligibility for the new Family Travel Package.
• Tremor (501A): Brand-new for 2027. Off-road focused, 4x4 only, with the High Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 making 440 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque.
• Platinum (600A): Luxury flagship with multiple available packages — Driver’s Package, Stealth Appearance, Stealth Performance, Platinum Ultimate, and the new 30th Anniversary Appearance Package.
• King Ranch (400A): Premium Del Rio leather, Sinister Bronze wheels, B&O 22-speaker audio, BlueCruise one-year plus 90-day plan included, now available in 4x2 as well as 4x4.

What is the 2027 Ford Expedition Tremor?

The Tremor is a brand-new off-road-focused trim for 2027. It pairs a High Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 making 440 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque with a 3.73 electronic locking rear differential, modified higher-ride suspension with premium passive shocks, modified Raptor-style skid plates with fuel tank underbody protection, and all-terrain tires. It is 4x4 only and includes Trail Control with Trail One Pedal Drive and Trail Turn Assist.

For central Minnesota buyers, the Tremor specs translate into real everyday capability. The raised suspension and all-terrain tires handle gravel roads between Hutchinson, Dassel, and Cokato without beating you up. The Rock Crawl and Off-Road drive modes are legitimately useful for lake cabin access roads in Kandiyohi and Meeker counties. The Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package is standard on Tremor, which matters if you’re pulling a livestock trailer, a fishing boat, or a snowmobile trailer.

Standard Tremor equipment also includes a Power Panoramic Vista Roof with power shade, leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front seats with Tremor logo embroidery, heated second-row captain’s chairs, third-row PowerFold flexible seating with remote power-folding head restraints, Pro Power Onboard 400W, B&O 10-speaker audio with Active Noise Cancellation, Phone As A Key, and BlueCruise equipped with a 90-day trial. Add the optional Driver’s Package and you pick up a 22-speaker B&O Play Unleashed system, illuminated rear spoiler, power-adjustable pedals with memory, and wireless charging.

We’re expecting strong demand on the Tremor in particular — it’s the biggest news in the 2027 lineup, and for families in this part of Minnesota who want the Expedition size but with real off-road credentials, there’s nothing quite like it in the segment. What new colors are available for 2027?

Ford has added three new paint colors to the 2027 Expedition lineup — Bronze Fire Metallic Tri-coat, Nocturnal Blue Metallic, and Blue Ember Metallic. Space Silver Metallic and Stone Blue Metallic are discontinued for 2027.

Bronze Fire Metallic Tri-coat is a deep, warm bronze with a tri-coat finish — the kind of paint that reads differently in the morning sun on a gravel road than it does at dusk in a parking lot. It’s available across Active, Tremor, Platinum, and King Ranch, but not with the 30th Anniversary Package.

Nocturnal Blue Metallic is a darker, more sophisticated blue than the retired Stone Blue. It’s available on Active, Tremor, and Platinum (non-30th Anniversary).

Blue Ember Metallic is the most exclusive — it’s reserved for Platinum with the 30th Anniversary Appearance Package, which makes it one of the most limited-production 2027 Expedition configurations you can order.

What is the 30th Anniversary Appearance Package?

The 30th Anniversary Appearance Package (91A) is a new optional package for 2027 Platinum that commemorates 30 years of the Ford Expedition nameplate. It adds 22-inch Ebony bright-machined painted aluminum wheels, exclusive “30th Anniversary” and “Expedition” lettering on the liftgate, Carbon Black front bumper and fascia, Ebony painted grille, Black-bezel headlamps with Ebony trim, laminated rear side glass, a black beltline molding, front and second-row tray floor liners, a cargo organizer, and unique front and rear scuff plates with 30th-anniversary detailing.

It’s only available in three colors — Agate Black Metallic, Star White Metallic Tri-coat, or the exclusive Blue Ember Metallic — and it requires a Salt Crystal Gray interior. If you want an Expedition that’s going to stand out on a lot ten years from now, this is the configuration to reserve.

What is the Family Travel Package?

The Family Travel Package (90T) is a new optional package for 2027 Active Touring. It adds 360-Degree Zone Lighting, a Digital Device Holder with 60W USB ports in the front seat backs, Flex Powered Console, Power Panoramic Vista Roof with power shade, Third Row 40/20/40 PowerFold Flexible Seating, Third Row Remote Power-Folding Head Restraints (the remote button is in the overhead console), and Remote Start.

The third-row power-fold functionality controlled from the overhead console is especially useful when you’re loading gear in a parking lot without walking around to the liftgate, and the 60W USB ports keep devices charged fast on longer drives to grandma’s.

When will the 2027 Expedition arrive in Hutchinson?

Ford has not announced a specific on-sale date for the 2027 Expedition. Industry reports point to late 2026 into early 2027, with dealer allocations opening before units arrive on lots. At Jay Malone Ford, we’ll update every reservation holder the moment we have firm timing.
