Two Detroit icons just teamed up. Ford opened the order banks on the 2027 Super Duty today — and the headliner is the all-new Super Duty Carhartt, the first-ever collaboration between two American work brands that have been getting the job done for over a century. If you're a farmer, contractor, or trades worker in central Minnesota, this truck was built for you. Order yours at Jay Malone Ford in Hutchinson today.
Ford and Carhartt have a lot in common — same hometown, same century-plus history, same customer. Walk into any farm shop, construction trailer, or grain co-op office in McLeod County and you'll find Carhartt jackets on the hooks and Ford keys on the desk. This collaboration just makes official what's already been true on the ground for generations.
The 2027 Super Duty Carhartt is a strategic partnership between Ford and Carhartt celebrating skilled trades and the people who actually build, fix, plant, and repair the world. It's not a gimmick package — it's a purpose-driven truck that brings authentic Carhartt-inspired workwear details into a Built Ford Tough Super Duty.
The Super Duty Carhartt is available exclusively on the XLT trim — positioned right at the heart of the retail Super Duty segment, where most of our central Minnesota buyers shop. The package combines Carhartt-style design touches with the work-ready hardware that earns its keep on day one.
Standard On The Carhartt Package
One detail worth pointing out: the Carhartt package can be added to any Super Duty XLT without requiring extra option packages or specific powertrain choices. That's not how most special-edition packages work. Most of them lock you into a long list of upgrades you didn't ask for. The Carhartt package is built around the idea that the customer should keep the freedom to spec the truck their way.
The Carhartt collaboration is the marquee headline, but the rest of the 2027 Super Duty lineup got real updates worth knowing about — especially if you're a current Super Duty owner thinking about your next one.
The 2027 Super Duty continues to lead the segment where it matters most for working trucks: 40,000 lbs of best-in-class maximum available towing and 7,900 lbs of best-in-class maximum available payload. If you're hauling cattle trailers, gooseneck stock trailers, equipment lowboys, or full-size camper trailers, the Super Duty still pulls more than anything else in the segment.
Ford simplified the engine lineup for 2027. Less complexity, more performance standard. Here's what changed:
2027 Powertrain Changes
The bottom line: if you want diesel power in your 2027 Super Duty, you're getting the High Output version — and Ford reduced the MSRP on it from 2026. That's not a typo. The most capable diesel in the lineup got more affordable.
Two color updates worth knowing:
McLeod County is Carhartt country. Walk into the Hutchinson Co-op, the Lester Prairie shop, or any feedlot from Brownton to Stewart and you'll see Carhartt jackets, Carhartt bibs, and Carhartt vests on the people doing the actual work. The same buyers who own that gear have been driving Super Dutys for decades. This collaboration just puts both badges on the same truck.
If you spend your days hauling round bales between fields, towing equipment to a build site, plowing snow on rural roads, or running gravel for a side business, the Super Duty Carhartt is the truck that looks like the way you already work. And because it's positioned on the XLT — the most-ordered retail trim — the price stays in reach.
Order banks for the 2027 Super Duty opened on May 8, 2026 — that's today. Special-edition packages like the Carhartt collaboration historically have limited allocation early in the model year, so the buyers who get their orders in first are the ones most likely to land the configuration they want.
Jay Malone Ford has been ordering Super Dutys for our McLeod County neighbors since 2005. We never charge extra to special-order the exact build you want — same price as anything on the lot. We'll walk you through every option, every package, and every spec decision that goes into your truck.
Order banks for the 2027 Super Duty — including the all-new Carhartt package — opened on Friday, May 8, 2026. You can place your order at Jay Malone Ford in Hutchinson today.
The Carhartt package is available exclusively on the Super Duty XLT — the most popular retail trim. You can add the package to any XLT build without requiring extra option packages or specific powertrain choices.
The Super Duty Carhartt package includes a Tough Bed® spray-in bedliner, off-road running boards, and unique Carhartt-inspired interior and exterior styling — including Carhartt-branded seat detailing.
The 7.3L V8 gas engine is now standard on all trims. The 6.7L High Output Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel is the only optional diesel and is standard on the F-450. The standard-output 6.7L Power Stroke and the 6.8L gas V8 are no longer available for 2027.
The 2027 Ford Super Duty offers best-in-class maximum available towing of 40,000 lbs and best-in-class maximum available payload of 7,900 lbs when properly equipped. Both numbers continue to lead the full-size pickup segment over 8,500 lbs GVWR.
No. We've never charged extra to locate or special-order a vehicle for a customer. If you want a 2027 Super Duty Carhartt — or any other Super Duty configuration — we'll order it at the same price you'd pay for one in stock.
