The 2026 Ford Maverick® keeps doing what made it famous — a real truck in a compact footprint with a standard hybrid powertrain — and expands the lineup to five trims, including the all-new Lobo performance 4WD. Below is the complete 2026 Maverick guide for Hutchinson shoppers: what’s new, what every trim offers, what the packages include, the colors, and which configuration fits your life.

What’s New for 2026

The biggest headline for 2026 is the new Lobo trim — a performance-tuned Advanced 4WD Maverick with a 7-speed quick-shift transmission, paddle shifters, unique Turbofan-style 19-inch black wheels, and a distinctive street-performance mission. It slots between the XLT and the Lariat and gives Maverick shoppers a genuine driver’s-truck option for the first time.

Other notable 2026 changes:

  • 2.0L EcoBoost® FWD now optional on XL and XLT — the first time a non-hybrid front-wheel-drive Maverick is available
  • Two new exterior colors: Light Blue and Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat
  • Blue Ford Oval replaces the Black Ford Oval as standard equipment across the lineup
  • Ford Connectivity Package — 1 year included on every trim, with an optional one-time 7-year purchase (91D)
  • SiriusXM with 360L now available with a 3-year plan (55B)
  • Power-Sliding Rear Window now optional on XLT and Lobo 402A (effective Job #2, 4/13/2026)
  • Wireless charging removed where previously available — deleted from the 2026 lineup entirely
  • Discontinued colors: Eruption Green and Desert Sand are gone for 2026

2026 Maverick Trim Lineup

The 2026 Maverick comes in five trims and six core configurations, with Lobo offered in both Standard and High equipment groups.

XL — The Value Anchor

The XL is the foundation of the Maverick lineup. Standard equipment includes the 2.5L hybrid powertrain, 17-inch Sparkle Silver steel wheels, a 13.2-inch SYNC® 4 touchscreen, cloth seats (6-way manual driver, 4-way manual passenger), Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping System, and the Ford Connectivity Package (1-year included). Available in FWD Hybrid (100A) or AWD Hybrid (101A). New for 2026: 2.0L EcoBoost® FWD also available on XL (100A).

XLT — The Most Popular Maverick

Most Maverick buyers end up in an XLT. It adds 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, wiper-activated LED headlamps, power glass sideview mirrors, perimeter alarm, Intelligent Access with push-button start, FITS kit console cupholders (new for 2026), and a 2K trailer hitch receiver as standard. From XLT, you can option the XLT Luxury Package (54L), FX4 Off-Road Package (17S), Black Appearance Package (59D), and 4K Tow Package (53Q).

Lobo — The New 2026 Performance Trim

Lobo is the story of the 2026 lineup. It pairs a 2.0L EcoBoost® with a 7-speed quick-shift transmission, paddle shifters, Advanced 4WD with a Twin Clutch Rear Drive Unit, performance-tuned suspension and steering, enhanced brakes, and a dedicated Lobo drive mode. Visually: 19-inch Turbofan-style black painted wheels, black painted grille and roof, LED projector headlamps with signature accent lighting, body-color handles and rockers, and unique Grabber Blue and Electric Lime accent stitching on the ActiveX™ seats. Comes in Standard (402A) and High (702A) — the High adds power moonroof, power-sliding rear window, B&O® Sound System, and Ford Co-Pilot360® Assist 2.0.

Lariat — The Premium Hybrid

Lariat is the comfort-first, feature-loaded Maverick. Standard AWD, 19-inch machined painted aluminum wheels, ActiveX™ trimmed heated seats (8-way power driver, 6-way manual passenger), heated soft vinyl wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate, B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® (8 speakers including subwoofer, HD Radio™), Pro Power Onboard™ 400W, Tough Bed® spray-in bedliner, LED projector headlamps, Ford Co-Pilot360® Assist 2.0 with 360-Degree Camera and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist™ standard.

Tremor® — The Genuine Off-Roader

Tremor® is the Maverick built for dirt. Off-road-tuned suspension with unique springs and shocks (ride-height increase), 4WD Lock and Rear Drive Unit Lock, heavy-duty transmission cooler, Trail Control™ with Trail 1-Pedal Drive, rotary gear shift dial, 17-inch machined-face tarnished dark aluminum wheels with orange painted pockets, 17-inch A/T tires, exposed front tow hooks with Tremor® orange accents, front skid plates, and an off-road screen in the cluster. All Lariat comfort and tech features carry over — Tremor® is a proper premium off-roader, not a stripped work truck.

2026 Maverick in Minnesota

Hutchinson, McLeod County, and the corridor out toward Willmar, Litchfield, Waconia, and Glencoe lives on gravel roads, unplowed mornings, and below-zero starts for several months a year. The Maverick handles it all — but the configuration you pick matters.

  • AWD Hybrid is the sweet spot for most central Minnesota buyers — winter traction plus the best fuel economy in the lineup
  • AWD EcoBoost® gives you more low-end grunt and is the better pick if you tow year-round
  • Advanced 4WD (Lobo and Tremor®) is overkill for commuters but the right answer for anyone who spends time on unmaintained lake roads, trails, or rough ag land
  • Engine Block Heater (41H) is available on every trim — worth adding for anyone parking outside in subzero temperatures

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the biggest difference between the 2026 Maverick and 2025?

The Lobo trim is the headline addition — a performance-tuned Advanced 4WD Maverick with a 7-speed quick-shift transmission and paddle shifters. Other key changes: 2.0L EcoBoost® FWD now available on XL and XLT, two new colors (Light Blue and Orange Fury), wireless charging deleted, and the 7-year Ford Connectivity Package option added.

Is the Maverick hybrid only?

No. The 2.5L Hybrid is standard on XL, XLT, and Lariat, but the 2.0L EcoBoost® with an 8-speed automatic is optional on those same trims. Tremor® comes only with the 2.0L EcoBoost®. Lobo uses its own 2.0L EcoBoost® with a 7-speed quick-shift transmission.

Can the Maverick tow a boat?

Yes — most Minnesota-sized aluminum fishing boats, smaller pontoons, and light recreational trailers are well within the Maverick’s capability. The 4K Tow Package adds a Trailer Brake Controller and Class III hitch for heavier towing. Official 2026 towing capacity figures are TBD — contact Jay Malone Ford for the latest numbers when confirmed.

Does the 2026 Maverick have wireless charging?

No. Wireless charging has been deleted from the entire 2026 Maverick lineup. It is not available on any trim or through any package.

What’s the difference between Tremor® and Lobo?

Tremor® is built for off-road — lifted ride height, A/T tires, skid plates, 4WD Lock, Trail Control™, and off-road-tuned chassis. Lobo is built for pavement — performance-tuned suspension and steering, enhanced brakes, 7-speed quick-shift with paddle shifters, and street-performance 19-inch wheels. Same Advanced 4WD platform, completely different missions.

Is AWD worth it for a Hutchinson-area driver?

For most central Minnesota buyers, yes. AWD handles winter roads, gravel, and seasonal conditions without requiring full 4WD. The AWD Hybrid in particular is the most popular Maverick configuration for this area — traction when you need it, hybrid fuel economy every other day.

Does the Maverick come as a two-door or regular cab?

No. The Maverick is offered only as a four-door SuperCrew® with a 4.5-foot bed. There is no extended-cab or regular-cab version.
