The 2026 Bronco Sport uses two EcoBoost® engines across the lineup. The 1.5L EcoBoost® powers Big Bend, Heritage, and Outer Banks — paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Standard 4x4. The 2.0L EcoBoost® is exclusive to the Badlands and pairs with an 8-speed automatic with SelectShift® and Paddle Shifters and Advanced 4x4 with Twin Clutch Rear Drive Unit.
The 2.0L engine is not an upgrade option on any other trim — if that engine matters to you, Badlands is the only path to it in the 2026 Bronco Sport lineup. Both engines use an 8-speed automatic transmission and share a 3.80 final drive ratio.
